Interactive Machinima
This project explores the medium of Machinima, a Japanese word that is a mixture of two English words, machine and cinema. The two English words are machine and cinema, which the Japanese combine to form Machinima. For the Japanese, the combination of foreign words has its own meaning. The machine in the combination represents game engine technology, and the cinema in the combination represents storytelling using animation and movie-like technology. This project uses the context of creating Machinima to learn about digital storytelling, 3D environment design, character development, animation, visual effects, filmmaking techniques, and most importantly, teamwork! I demonstrate all the skills that went into creating Machinima.
